A new locality and minimum altitudinal record of Pristidactylus volcanensis Lamborot & Diaz 1987 (Squamata, Leiosauridae) in the Metropolitan Region of Chile
In the Metropolitan Region of Chile, of the three species of the genus Pristidactylus that are present, Pristidactylus volcanensis is
the only one associated with the Andes mountains. It can be found in two localities of Cajon del Maipo (El Volcán and Lo Valdés) and in one locality in Pirque (Río Clarillo National Park). In the present work we report a new locality for P. volcanensis and a new altitudinal minimum record in the Quebrada San Gabriel, San José de Maipo, Metropolitan Region. This contributes to the knowledge of this endangered species and increases the localities where it is found to four.
